Student Visas
The persons who would like to study Japanese at Hiroo Japanese Center are eligible for the student visas with which students are allowed to take part-time job. Therefore the income from part-time jobs can cover some cost of living in Tokyo.
Course Fee
(1) Student visas processing fee: \25,000 (*approx. US$208.00)
(2) Registration fee: \22,000 (*approx. US$183.00)
(3) Tuition fee for 6 months: \300,000 (*approx. US$2,500.00)
*Estimates based on 120 yen to the US Dollar.
The requirements and procedure for student visa's application
* The documents needed for the student visa's application are stated as follows.
1) Certificate of graduation and grade records with original seals from the last school.
2) Photos( 4cm x 3cm ) of applicant: 3 pieces (passport sizes)
3) Photo copy of applicant's passport
4) Personal history of applicant ( please refer to the attached form)
5) Documentary evidence for ability to pay expenses for studying and living in Japan.
(a) When the applicant assumes the burden of all expenses in Japan, the following statements are required.
* Bank statements of applicant's savings
(The sum total should be more than \2,400,000 or US$22,000.)
* Statements of employment from the applicant's previous employers
(b) When the applicant's parents assume the burden of his/her expenses in Japan, the following documents are required.
* Statements of parents' savings
(The sum total should be more than \2,400,000 or US$22,000.)
* Statement of parents' employment
* Written oath from parents
(A letter stating that the applicant's parents will send him/her money every month. Please specify how much they send him/her.)
* Applicant's birth certificate
The visa application periods are limited to four times a year. Those are in February, April, August and October. The above documents should be submitted to the school by the end of each month.
The result of the application comes out in four months time after the application. For example, if the application is done in April the result comes out in August, and if applyed in October, it comes out in February following year.
When the application is approved by the Tokyo Immigration Bureau, the Certificate of Eligibility is issued to the school. Then the school sends it to the applicant by the registered mail. Upon recieving it by him/her, he/she should go to the nearest Japanese embassy/consulate to obtain the student's visa stamp.
